This is only one specific advantage of igus® bearings. All pivot bearings have been, for example, replaced with xiros® polymer ball bearings. The vertical Z-axes of the robot is made of a drylin® W high profile rail, which considerably simplifies the design. Other improvements at the gripper are currently underway.
