An innovative 3D printer with SLS technology: The application of compact polymer bearings could optimize its weight and size in such a way that it makes this device unique on the market. The special requirements: Powder layers are applied during printing at temperatures of up to 190°, which leads to much polymer dust. Conventional bearings required a lot of maintenance in this environment. drylin® W linear guide systems fit perfectly to this application. Besides other products from igus®, iglidur® X plain bearings are used. The result is a compact SLS printer with an attractive design and top print properties.
